My chess sets
For game's beauty sake!
I
enjoy nice chess sets, while chess computers are most often a bit
deceptive: small chessboard and set of pieces (a large majority of them
are satisfied with 1 inch squares). Some are only chess calculators,
anyway requiring a chessboard aside to play with. Whatever for play or
analysis, I like to change equipment; so I periodically swap the chess
sets I use. No extraordinary set will be seen here, and no museum
showcase alike: those are sets to play with, not to exhibit. In
addition to nice wooden sets and boards, I took care to get plastic
sets as well, and floppy vinyl chess boards, for any relevant usage.
And some plastic sets are definitely nice and pleasant to play with!
The presentation is organized across two webpages: "library size" sets, to be peered with squares up to 1 3/4 inches large; and "competition sets", for 2 inches or more squares. The chess clock is not present for style, but just to provide a sizing reference.
Enjoy visiting!
